Yellow Prehnite crystal cluster from the Merelani Hills, Manyara Region, Tanzania.

Vanadinite from the small ‘Orange Crush’ Pocket, Mibladen, Khenifra Province, Morocco, mined in April of 2016. This pocket had orange to brownish-red crystals with a lustrous metallic chatoyancy, and uncommon stepped crystal form. The next Mineralogical Record is set to have an article about this exceptional, very small find.

Rhodochrosite with Quartz, Pyrite, Sphalerite combination, Peru

Translucent, Reddish-Pink Rhodochrosite crystals scattered over dozens of terminated Quartz crystals. Rhodochrosite with minor Pyrite and Sphalerite on the bottom. The Rhodochrosite habit is bladed. Vitreous luster.

Double-terminated, Scalenohedral Rhodochrosite from Uchucchacua Mine, Peru

Very pretty and showy gem lustrous red scalenohedral crystals of rhodochrosite are set on matrix. The largest rhodochrosite crystal is double-terminated and measures 17 mm in length. Excellent cherry-red color. Glassy to Vitreous luster.

Stunning color contrast of green Siderite “Blades” with brassy, iridescent Chalcopyrite crystals in this specimen. Several of the Siderite blades are 1-inch long. The luster of the Siderite is vitreous to pearly while the Chalcopyrite has a brilliant metallic luster.

Large Hessonite crystals with adamantine luster. Color is reddish-orange to brown. Largest Hessonite crystal is 4-cm long. Another is 2.7-cm. Minor Vesuvianite (green) in matrix.
