Strengite is a relatively rare iron phosphate mineral. This neat specimen came out of the collection of Dalton & Consie Prince. It was likely self collected by Dalton or one of his friends (Art Smith, Al Kidwell) in the Coon Creek Association back in 1970’s. The specimen is from the Coon Creek (York) Mine in Polk County, Arkansas. It is a notable locality for rare phosphate minerals. The nicely formed crystals of Strengite sit atop a bed of Goethite. The dimensions of the specimen are 7 x 4 x 2.8 cm.Â
